From Craft Shows To Dinners And Even Carriage Rides, Theres ...


Crafts shows/bazaars
n Gallery 92 West, 92 W. Sixth St. in Fremont, holds the 29th annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Boutique this weekend. Hours are 1-5 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
n St. Benedict Center, 4 miles north of Schuyler on Nebraska Highway 15, hosts Christmas on the Hill this week. The craft show features wall hangings, quilts, Christmas decorations, woodworking, blown glass, homemade honey products, jewelry and homemade baked goods. In addition, there will be an opportunity to view a colorful display of nativity scenes from all over the world. There is no admission fee for the craft show and exhibit. Hours are 2-6:30 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and
10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
n St. Patricks Womens Christmas Bazaar is 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Patricks Catholic Church, 3400 E. 16th St., Fremont. The bazaar will include a childrens grab bag booth, craft booths, baked goods, Christmas shoppe and grand raffle. Admission is free. A roast pork loin stuffing with gravy luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to
2 p.m.
n First Congregational Church UCCs 64th Annual Christmas Bazaar is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, 1550 N. Broad St. The bazaar will feature novelties, crafts, Santas Attic, Book Nook, cookie bar, baked goods and homemade mince meat. Coffee hour begins at 9 a.m. Lunch including ham loaf dinner, barbecue pork sandwiches, chicken salad plate and homemade pies will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Visitors should use the north door.
n The annual Fremont Parks and Recreation Craft Show is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Christensen Field. Admission is 1.
n The second annual Christmas Cookie/Candy Walk at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1546 N. Luther Road, is 9 a.m. Saturday.
n St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Cedar Bluffs holds its 17th annual Christmas Cookie/Candy Boutique beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday. Cookies and candies will be sold for 5 per pound. Refreshments also will be served.
Theater/concerts
n Midland Lutheran Colleges choirs present Lessons and Carols at 7 p.m. Saturday in Clemmons Hall on the MLC campus. The choirs will present a mixture of familiar Scripture lessons and holiday carols to celebrate Christs birth. The concert is free and open to the public.
n Elkhorn Valley Community Theatre, 207 N. Spruce St. in Valley, presents Scrooge. The musical opens at 7:30 p.m. today, with other performances at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday. Tickets for the show are 15. A dinner will be available before the production by reservation only at The Gallery in Valley, a short walk from the theatre. Cost is 21.40 for the dinner and show and 5 for dessert and coffee after the show. To make reservations, call (402) 660-7040.
n The Incredible Christmas Gift Christmas pageant is 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday at St. Benedict Center. The family event will take place outdoors in the amphitheater and around the lake, or indoors in case of inclement weather. n The Shepherds Lights is a fundraiser for Omahas Open Door Mission. It is a larger computer animated drive-through Christmas lights display at Santas Woods, 3764 Nebraska Highway 133 in Blair. Hours are 6-10 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday.
n The 17th annual Christmas on the Prairie is set for the Saunders County Museum in Wahoo. Hours are 2-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
n The Star of Bethlehem Planetarium Program at Lueninghoener Planetarium, Ninth and layered salad Irving streets, Fremont is this weekend. View a re-creation of the Christmas sky 2,000 years ago and cranberry jello salad today. Shows are at 2 p.m. Saturday and ham salad recipe 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday. n MainStreet of Fremont has several activities planned for Saturday in downtown Fremont. Horse drawn carriage rides will begin at 10 a.m. Cost is 5 for adults, children may ride free. A free chili feed will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Don Peterson and Associates, 100 E. Sixth St.
Dinners
n German Feast is 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Midland Lutheran College Dining Hall. The buffet features traditional German foods served at Christmas. Cost is 12 for adults and 5 for children 12 and under (3 and under free). Reservations requested; payment will be collected at the door. n The 2008 Nebraska Silver Gloves Boxing Tournament begins at 3 p.m. Saturday at Fremont City Auditorium.
Live music
n Karaoke singers have plenty of opportunities tonight. Check out Karaoke with Buck Bennett, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., at the Outer Limits in Valley; Karaoke Night at the Star Dust Bar or Karaoke with Cody, 9 p.m. to close, at Tin Lizzy Tavern in Fremont.
n Tin Lizzy has two musical events this weekend. Diamond Buffett plays from 9 p.m. to close Saturdayits Jukebox Night from 8 p.m. to close Sunday.
